Google changes search results to conceal criticism of Islam and jihad
https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/google-changes-search-results-to-conceal-criticism-of-islam-and-jihad

The jihad against the freedom of speech is advancing rapidly, and most people don’t even know it’s happening.

Turkey’s state-run news outlet Anadolu Agency reports:
“Google’s first page results for searches of terms such as ‘jihad’, ‘shariah’ and ‘taqiyya’ now return mostly reputable explanations of the Islamic concepts. Taqiyya, which describes the circumstances under which a Muslim can conceal their belief in the face of persecution, is the sole term to feature a questionable website on the first page of results.”

“Reputable” according to whom? “Questionable” according to whom?

Google has bowed to pressure from Muslims such as Texas imam Omar Suleiman, who led an initiative to compel Google to skew its results. Apparently Google hasn’t considered whether those who are demanding that search results be manipulated in a particular direction might have an ulterior motive. Could it be that those who are pressuring Google wish to conceal certain truths about Islam that they would prefer non-Muslims not know?

This is a real possibility, but of course Google executives would have to study Islam themselves in order to determine whether or not these Muslims who are pressuring them are misleading them, and that’s not going to happen. Still, they could have done a bit more due diligence, and made some efforts to determine whether those being tarred as “hate groups” really deserved the label, whether the Southern Poverty Law Center was really a reliable and objective arbiter of which groups were and weren’t “hate groups,” and whether the information that Google was suppressing was really inaccurate. Instead, Google seems to have swallowed uncritically everything Omar Suleiman and the others said.

Suleiman, however, still isn’t satisfied: “One leading activist in favor of Google modifying its results told Anadolu Agency he noticed the updated search results and thanked the company for its efforts but said ‘much still needs to be done.'” He claimed that Google has a responsibility to “combat ‘hate-filled Islamophobia’ similar to how they work to suppress extremist propaganda from groups like Daesh and al-Qaeda.”

This should have made Google executives stop and think. The Islamic State (Daesh) and al-Qaeda slaughter people gleefully and call openly for more mass murders. There is no firm evidence that anyone has ever been killed by a “hate-filled Islamophobe,” and the claim that Hamas-linked CAIR and the SPLC make in this article, that this supposed “Islamophobic” rhetoric has led to a rise in hate crimes against Muslims, is supported by not a scintilla of evidence. Suleiman is equating critical words with murderous deeds, and Google should have realized at that point that he had an agenda and wasn’t being honest.

Probably according to the people whose culture coined the terms in the first place.

Quebec City mosque shooting: A mass shooting occurred at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec City. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Philippe Couillard called the shooting a terrorist attack,[36][37] but the perpetrator was not charged with terrorism.[38] The incident was classified as a hate crime[39] and an Islamophobic attack.[40]

more scary.

In April 1993 the United Nations (UN) had declared the besieged enclave of Srebrenica—in the Drina Valley of northeastern Bosnia—a "safe area" under UN protection. However, in July 1995, UNPROFOR's 370[11] Dutchbat soldiers in Srebrenica failed to prevent the town's capture by the VRS—and the subsequent massacre.

The Serb offensive against Srebrenica began in earnest on 6 July 1995. In the following days, the five UNPROFOR observation posts in the southern part of the enclave fell one by one in the face of the Bosnian Serb advance. Some of the Dutch soldiers retreated into the enclave after their posts were attacked, but the crews of the other observation posts surrendered into Serb custody.

Maybe you should look at some of those anti-Islam sites, TC. The likes of David Horowitz and Pamella Geller make the following claims:

--Islam is incompatible with the west
--Muslims cannot be "real" US citizens because of the above
--You can never trust anything a Muslim says because of taqqiya
--Islam is not a religion, it is a warplan
--Islam is treason
--A sizable percentage of male Muslims are gay pedophiles
--Shariah Creep-- Shariah Law is secretly being gradually implemented in the US, displacing the constitution.
--Communism is a form of secular Islam (I can't remember if it is Horowitz/Geller or one of the other major Islamophobes who started this claim, though)

Pamella Geller doesn't just target Muslims with her ire, BTW. She also claims that liberalism is treason, and that liberal Jews are Kapos (Geller is a conservative Jew, BTW)

yea, that's not really what a reprisal attack is, a reprisal attack would be if you, for example killed my cousin, so i killed your uncle, so you killed my brother and so on and so forth. reprisals are carried out in response to direct wrongs imagined or otherwise committed against a person or group of people.
what you just described is a bunch of people committing senseless acts of violence against people barely even peripherally related to the source of their grievance if at all.

that right there is the problem, and articles like the one quoted in the OP aren't helping. also i agree with your other statement, people on any side of this would have to be profoundly disturbed to commit such acts for such a paltry reason.

Every attack is some sort of "reprisial" for something else that happened. I don't see how you supporting terrorism makes you superior to brown people who support terrorism.

AHA!

Original Muslim Conquests during the Dark Ages was the origin of all of this, and therefore every time a Christian kills a Muslim it's a "reprisal attack", and every time a Muslim kills anyone it's because "They are just inherently violent terrorists"!

Problem solved. Topic over. All Christian attacks are more justified than Muslim ones.

And just a reminder, the goalposts have now moved. Originally, the argument was against the incredulous claim that "There is no firm evidence that anyone has ever been killed by a "hate-filled Islamophobe"

We can argue who has been more victimized through history until the cows come home, but it is a pretty fruitless endeavor. But if any of you need to get your fill of Victim Complex today I can't stop you.

It's called a "content bubble" and you make it yourself as you perform searches. Google is designed to give you more of what you're looking for. It feeds you the content it thinks you want to read based on what you're looking at, because the ads that come with it, and the sponsored links that come with it, are what makes Google money.

It's why people like Stormfoot only see Stormfront on their search results instead of something like WSJ, US News and World Report, or even just Time magazine.

Google's not promoting hate. In fact, it generally can't tell. It's just feeding you what you want. That people want Google to break some of the content bubbles and post, I don't know, factual information instead of rabid, mouth-frothing echo chambers of right-wing islamophobia... is not some sudden, Soros-funded, pro-Islam agenda.

They do this with LGBT too, only the state-approved stuff. You really have to know how to get around it.

Google has (very sadly) decided to promote disinformation rather than provide an open search service. They caved to China, big time, when it came to censorship and doing everything they demanded. So once they set up a culture like that, it's only a matter of time before they cave over here too.

Why We Are Afraid, A 1400 Year Secret, by Dr Bill Warner

The interesting question for me, is who was behind Islam. It's abundantly clear that there's no Allah out there (since the Saudis imposed a blockade on a fellow Wahhabi country in the middle of Ramadan, without receiving any divine punishment whatsoever), so we have to look elsewhere:

Jewish Roots of Islam

Needless to say, it is downright hilarious that hundreds of millions - indeed, billions - of people consider Jewish superstitions to be divine wisdom. The Israelis must have a good laugh whenever they see Muslims praying - 'Oy vey, these goyim buffoons will believe anything!'

the crusades started under st. augustine's principle of bellum iustum ("just war") in order to reclaim jerusalem for the christians, but was eventually elevated to bellum sacrum ("holy war") to expand christianity's reach. catholics forcibly converted and baptized indigenous pagan and christian orthodox europeans, not to mention all the religious wars between catholics and protestants hundreds of years later like the 30 years war

also, i should mention that one benefit of the christian crusades is that it facilitated exchange between the christian and muslim worlds. the italian renaissance was fostered by ottoman libraries, which held classical greek/roman texts that got reintroduced to europe via mediterranean trade
The American fliers turned in their uniforms, became high school kids. And Hitler turned into a baby.
