California Bakers have refused to bake a birthday cake in the shape of Donald Trump's Make America Great Again Hat according the mother of a 9 y/o boy, who happens to be the Boy who WROTE to Donald Trump and PRAISED HIM!

Dylan Harbin, the 3rd grader at Elmwood Elementary School in Stockton, California asked his mom Sueann for a Donald Trump suit for his BIRTHDAY and when his mother tried to buy a Trump Style cake to go along with it, she failed to find a baker willing to complete the order.

Instead, she was forced to bake the cake herself which she did not provide a picture of..(probably cause it sucks)

The 9 y/o boy became a conservative "hero" after he wrote to Trump at the White House asking "why people don't like you" and introducing himself in the letter as "pickle" and wrote "I'm 9 years old and you are my favrit president. i like you so much i had a birthday about you. My cake was the shape of your hat"

That letter was read out last month at a press briefing by the new Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Sarah also said that she would regularly read out future letters from "some of the forgotten men, women and children that we're here to serve".

Do you know any kids who are 10 and under who "love" Trump? let's see if people do

lol Parents who put politics onto their kids are the worst.

That said they shouldn't have a problem with a place refusing to bake a cake for them for any reason, it happened to a couple trying to get a wedding cake made, why can't it happen to anyone else

Uh...the state stepped in and heavily fined the bakers who refused to bake something for the same sex couple. Do you not think the baker here should be fined as well?

It's Stockton. The issue wasn't them not wanting to make the cake. The problem was finding a sober person.

I remember in kindergarten I was a huge Clinton supporter when he was running against Bob dole.

My mom was a Democrat. My dad a republican. I heard them talking but wasng invested. Then one day as the presidency and election was explained in kindergarten I started telling my mom that I needed Clinton to win because Bob dole looked evil and I didn't want the world to change.

Also they shouldn't have to bake a cake and a bakery shouldn't have to bake a cake for a gay marriage. Let businesses do what they want.

That would only be relevant if they were refusing service, period. You can't force a business to make a specific product.

Do they make any cakes about Presidents? If so they should be fined for not making this one. If not, they shouldn't be fined.
Do the bakers advertise they make custom cakes? If so then bake the cake or stop advertising it. People are too easy to get offended these days. If you're too sensitive to make custom things for people then work somewhere different. Maybe McDonalds?

It's no different than parents forcing religion on their kids. But some people think that's alright too. :/

So they should be forced to make any custom cake? What about a big dick cake? Or a cake of someone being stabbed in the face?

You can't force a company to make a specific product like that.

Then at least put an asterisk after everything you offer and/or put some limitations. There's a reason lots of companies have a pile of fine print. Otherwise you're just false advertising.

Incidentally, this reminds me of that time where one dad got into a huff about how various bakers refused to make his kid a swastika birthday cake.

Bet ya' the same rightists getting mad in here were upset back then too.

And before I go for the night. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the bakery should be closed down or forced to make something they don't want to. But I do think they should be forced to take down any signs saying they do custom cakes, at least until they add some fine print about their personal opinions and policies.

Disagree honestly. As far as im aware the company isnt refusing to make them a cake, just not a trump cake.
So with that being said, if you go to a company that refuses to make a specific cake then go somewhere else. Regardless the companies claim to make any cake, boohoo to them veto'ing a cake they think will damage their future sales. That company doesnt have to make any cake you want them to. Politics, religion and race are already a touchy subject so its no surprise to refuse such a cake.

They veto a cake design, dont cry about something they didnt have to do in the first place.

God bless you
You don't choose to be gay, you do choose to be a redhat though. :v Bakers were justified. Tell the lazy parents to buy some red icing and make the hat themselves. You don't have to be an artist to draw a freakin' hat on a cake. Hell, I'd do it for them.
Welp, so long to that bakery. Hope they have plenty of money hidden somewhere for after they get sued and their business gets shut down.
