Trump literally can't just say "Racism is bad"

  3. Trump literally can't just say "Racism is bad"
How can you be this bad at public relations? All he has to say is white supremacy is wrong and bad, and then the media would have never blew this story up. Instead he decides to try and skate a line and say both sides are bad. Maybe that's true, but context f***ing matters. The black panthers and BLM didn't incite violence with a giant rally.

You know what I meant, they didn't incite violence yesterday at a giant racist rally. Of course the panthers have a history of being militant, I'm not overlooking that. And I wouldn't even say what Trump said is incorrect, but given the context of the day you'd have to be dumb to make the comment that he made.

Fair enough, but it's not just the media. Many of his fellow Republicans in congress are calling for him to just straight up say white supremacists are bad, and he still hasn't yet. Maybe he doesn't need the media, but without the support of congress he literally won't be able to get anything substantial done.

A president's response to something like this shouldn't be focus-grouped to win approval; it should be a moral response as a representative of the nation. If Trump is unwilling to call out white supremacism because of how it might look to his voters, what is that but political correctness?

The whole idea of Trump is that he doesn't do stuff that he feels pressured to do. What you and I see as obstinate, his followers and supporters see as maintaining independence from corporate media figures that, quite frankly, sold them down the river more times than can be counted anyway.

It's not about fixing their thoughts and behaviors, it's about signaling to the nation that this type of hatred is not welcome in America. I wouldn't expect a KKK member to just straight up change after hearing the President speak out against them, but the people not only here but all around the world need to know that this type of racial hatred is not an American value.

They are Neo-Nazis. They'll just accuse him of being a "Jewish puppet" of Jared Kushner and Stephen Miller (many already do). It's impossible to reason with such people. They're long gone.

As for the topic, Trump has repeatedly condemned white racism, David Duke, etc. In fact, he strongly condemned Duke in 2000 when he was under no pressure. He dropped out of the "reform party" mainly because Duke had joined it.

Trump won the election on the votes of over 60 million Americans.

In 2008 David Duke endorsed Obama.

Here is what David Duke had to say when asked about his views regarding President Obama’s candidacy prior to the general election.

“He was a community activist or a black activist. He’s been in the church for 20 years that — and one of the first principles of that church is that they are, quote, “true to Africa,” loyal to Africa. There is nothing wrong with Barack Obama working and having a long career advancing what he sees as the black community interests or the black perceived interests as a group, collective interest, but I did see it as kind of odd that a man of that stripe would become president of the United States. It seems like — I think I should endorse him for president.”
Duke then commends Barack Obama, saying he can “appreciate the fact that he has achieved — that he got a degree. He’s gone to Harvard University. He has been a teacher. I am today a Ph.D. myself.”

It doesnt matter what Trump says or does. Racist a******s will be racist a******s. Trump has been speaking put against racism for decades he was speaking out against rscism and hatred all day yesterday...

Because Duke is CRAZY. I said before in another thread, Duke's support for Trump is baffling. His administration has many prominent Jews and his daughter married into a Jewish family and converted (Duke considers Jews to be the number one enemy of the "white race"). Then you have the fact that he has condemned him repeatedly for years. His son Trump Jr even said that Duke "deserves a bullet".

The only possible way for Trump to have a lower approval rating is for him to openly denounce the white nationalists that support him.

Why did you post a video of Trump lying / not knowing what he is talking about?

And why is this video, specifically about the KKK?

Damn, Trump supporters are REALLY bad at defending the imbecile they voted for.

A compilation video of Trump openly condemning white racism.

A troll responds with, "Trump is just lying! So why doesn't he openly condemn white nationalists????"

And why is this video, specifically about the KKK?

He specifically condemned white supremacy in the video. Not just Duke or the KKK.

Then why didn't he condemn white supremacy after a f***ing terrorist attack?

Go back to the university of YouTube, kid. Trump depends on these racist losers for support.

He has condemned the KKK and white supremacy so many times, yet the media pretended that he didn't and lied about it anyways.

Like when he waited a month to denounce the KKK endorsement and pretended not to know who David Duke is?

Your evidence for that is an interview in which he condemned Duke in 2000 because of his racism. That was 16 years ago. People forget.

Enough to sway the election in Trump's favor.(and I'm not saying all Trump supporters are racist).

And how do you know that? There are a lot of people that supported Trump because of the strong stance he's taken against racism over the years. I would say those people greatly outnumber the ones that that want some sort of return to Jim Crow.

If someone needs to tell you racism is bad .... well I mean you should probably be 5 years old and it's your mother or father telling. And even then at 5 you should recognize that we are all of the same species that equally deserve respect and common curtesy.

If your folks didn't teach this to you as a child, the president saying anything or not isn't going to sway a person. Either you've reached the conclusion as an adult that you will treat people equally without prejuding people or you've made to the choice to do the opposite.

How hard is it to comprehend that all people are asking for is him to condemn hatred each time it arises? It's not that I think HE thinks the way the KKK does, it's that we as a country need to make a firm statement that this sort of ideology has no place in America. So yes, every time something like this happens I would like him to condemn these acts just like I wanted Obama to condemn radical Islamic terrorism each time that happened.

I agree that he should condemn them every single time this happens, as Obama should have for the radical Islamic terrorists. My concern is that if he condemns these actions say 10 times for every 1 incident that some of the more ridiculous people on here will just say they were all lies. It's like they want him to jump a certain height for them and if he did it before then they actually think he came up short.

This is the thing that makes me laugh the most about this faux virtuous outrage people are having about Trump not saying exactly what they want. They always try to bring up how "if he just said this specific phrase, or took this specific action, we wouldn't be criticising him". When anyone with a functioning brain can see right though that phony bulls*** and know that the reality is they would just move their goalposts to somewhere else so they can continue dragging him. Spoiler alert: that man was a supporter of his, lol. He literally made a judgement based on his skin color. The man wasn't causing any trouble.

He's condemned them many times. Here are videos of multiple instances of him doing so.

"Yeah, but why did he wait so long? Why didn't he condemn them sooner?"
He condemned them long before this incident at Charlottesville. Here's a video as far back as 2000

      "f*** you, I hate Trump!!!"

Oh look, Admiral is here to make himself look bad again.
Your s*** posting doesn't negate his point.

"He doesn't need to condemn them now, because he did so in the past"

      Lol
I need someone to tell me what to think or not.

      Lol.
I think I need a drink. Almost everybody does only they don't know it. -- Charles Bukowski
He repeats attacks and talking points all the time. Liberals have even been praising TED CRUZ for his strong reactions to white supremacist a******ry. This "what could he say, you libs would never be satisfied " ignores the fact that there are multiple high ranking Republicans including the Zodiac Killer himself that responded correctly and have received nothing but praise.

We want him to make it clear he's not on their side because that sure as hell is open to interpretation right now because of the gigantic, conspicuous gap between the vitriol he has for other groups/individuals vs David Duke and the Nazis who have noticed his sudden PC statements that put equal blame on non murderers rather than tearing apart Nazis who are hurting and even killing people in his name.

You mean like Obama couldn't say Islamic terrorism

Yeah but no one thought that was because he wanted Islamic terrorists to vote for him.

He said there was no place for this kind of hate. What more do you want?

Do you really want me to start that long ass list?

Not really because no matter what he does you won't be happy.

Please do so, so that all of these Trump supporting morons can see what we're talking about.

"If any of the people involved truly believed they were doing this in my name, I have one thing to tell you: Stop. If you stand for hatred, and violence and bigotry and intolerance, then you do not stand with me and you do not stand with America. America isn't about supremacy, it is about inclusion. It is not about violence, it is about compassion. If you truly support me, you truly believe what I stand for, you truly want to make America great again: stop the violence."

Add half a dozen "great",one or two "believe me" and maybe a little pointless grandstanding and you're done.

"If Trump doesn't say this very specific thing I want him to, in these exact words, even though he already expressed this sentiment numerous times before, it doesn't count for me.

Oh, and I'm totally not a hypocrite for having a much higher bar for the language Trump needs to use to condemn violence than I ever had for Obama."

You argue there's nothing he could say to appease the evil left and the terrible media. I gave you an example of the kind of thing he could say to do exactly that.

Asked, and delivered. And now you're whining about it.

Though I don't want to keep doing the "But Obama..." shtick, none of the RIT groups tweeted praise for his statements saying they felt comforted and that he was a "good guy".
