You only watch movies because of "Diversity"?

You don't watch them because they're "A good movie" or "Historically Accurate"?

I sat through Mulan and didn't see a single gay, black Swede. What gives Hollywood? Why aren't gay, black Swedes given their due in a movie about Dynasty era China? Bigots!

I'm not sure if params7 is serious or not, but sadly, there are a number of people out there who do just that un-ironically. You're no doubt aware of that, of course.

You pretty much have to have a black actor on screen these days, for parts that can be played by any race. Their character also has to be intelligent and/or benevolent. Thats just modern politics in Hollywood.

SJWs,
1). Read a frickin' history book, 'kay? 2). Your opinions and ideas don't matter, or count for anything. 3). Nobody has or ever will like you.......slither back under the moist stone you oozed from and leave society alone.......seriously, just leave us in peace......

I like how no one has linked the actual article.....

It was overwhelmingly a positive review with that one statement at the end that isn't even critical of the movie, rather an observation.

So.... you are saying people shouldn't be allowed to review things how they see fit?

You sound triggered. I stopped living and dying by media analysis and criticism years ago. Some people are going to like things you like, some people are going to hate things you like, and some people will make observations. Once you create art and release it into the world everyone gets to interpret in their own way.

Is it more likely in this story that fewer women and poc would appear? Yes. Is that point worth making in response to his statement? Sure. Is it worth flipping out and whining about sjws and firing up the alt right outrage machine? lol @ triggered little snowflakes in the alt right....

Having an opinion is one thing......jamming that opinion into everything, everywhere can get a little maddening. We get it, liberals and SJWs think America is racist/sexist/homophobic/xenophobic.....get a new schtick, this dead horse has beaten and beaten and beaten to the point where there is no dead horse left to beat.

SJWs either:

- Don't understand the idea of history not meant to reflect and be based in modern society.

Or

- They're so upset at the idea that people in the past weren't diverse enough and feel so guilty they're literally pushing to re-write history because they're so upset at having to even acknowledge it wasn't great thus all they're doing is hide the discrimination of the past to I dunno pretend somehow society has gone vastly down hill not improved.

The trio of timelines can be jarring as you figure out how they all fit, and the fact that there are only a couple of women and no lead actors of color may rub some the wrong way.

And my interest was peaked, so lets dive into the history and see what we can find out, were there coloured or ethnic soldiers serving in the French, Belgian or BEF regiments during Dunkirk.

Suprisingly the answer is a very solid YES, the BEF themselves contained Regiments of Indian Lancers and Sappers, the French Forces in the North had tens of thousands of Senegalese conscripts in the region during Dunkirk, The Belgians didn't engage any colonial forces keeping their African regiments home.

But basically I read a history book and the SJW's are bang on correct, it's the alt-righters engaging in historical revision.

And thousands of people always bring up "People of Color" / "Diversity" in every day life all over Main Stream Media and shove it in everybody's faces.

We don't need it here in our entertainment.

It's just your usual left forced diversity bull.

At that time there was almost no blacks or ethnic's in the forces involved in Dunkirk, the BEF for example where almost totally comprised of units drawn from the British isles the only none white units involved where a few platoons of Indians from the mule logistics which numbered a few hundred men.

There were 1800 Indian troops in the Mule divisions, so 1800, so quite a few, you can understand and excuse such a small minority being unseen in a film about hundreds of thousands, the Indian forces at Dunkirk are a footnote really.

As I mentioned above the French however had tens of thousands of colonial troops in the region at the time, with 75,000 total across northern France, that should probably be represented somehow.
