That's really cool, but it's a shame that religious organizations are going to oppose it. In fact I think it's illegal in America to let the embryo develop into a full human. That's unfortunate because we could eventually cure many illnesses and deformities if this was allowed to progress. I guess some other country will beat us to that.

I'm all for erasing dangerous diseases and other such ailments, but I am definitely against the designer baby market. Choosing the hair color, height, strength, intelligence, all of it.

Why though? Because imagine trying to compete in a job market dominated by the genetically perfect children of rich families who then relegate the working class to minimum wage jobs, or being far in the future, unemployment.

So you're saying that a class of effortlessly genetically superior people is totally cool? Watch the movie Gattaca. It's not predicting the future, but I fail to see how anyone could want to rush forward into genetic modification after seeing the film unless they were clueless.
