There are plenty of gay characters in a lot of games, but more representation is always nice. I’d like FE Switch to have actual bisexuals instead of just Corrin-sexuals.

Creating a character solely to represent a specific group of people is never a good idea. The character is destined to be bland or insufferable, and any good things about them will be overshadowed by the very fact that they only exist to fill a mystical quota of unrepresented people.
If it's actually important to the plot, or something, then sure. But the thought process for creating characters shouldn't begin with "We need to represent this group!".

I mean I wouldn't mind but I wouldn't want a character gay just because "It's about time to" like if the character is gay, thats fine but thats not what is gonna make a character great for me, the character still needs actual character besides just being gay.

Sure. It would be nice to have some, but I don't feel like it's specifically about time.
Despite society thinking it's socially advanced, rarely is anyone able to portray gay characters without it being a complete caricature. They just don't know how. Especially not Japanese developers. Hell, they already struggle at making black characters non-offensive, one step at a time. Also, to put a gay character in, in a natural and authentic way (in a game that has nothing to do with sexuality) you figure out their sexuality through very subtle hints. The most respectful way to portray a character that's gay, (or female/minority) is to make them like any other human being. Not having them walk around telling people they're gay, or being overly talkative about their sexuality, or have gay stereotypes. That kind of alienates the viewer, no matter how you identify. If the story is about the character's sexuality, that's different, but if the game has nothing to do with romance or sexuality, it feels forced. You should make a character who happens to be gay before making a gay character. Same with minority and female characters. |

Just remembered that Pokémon XY has lesbian undertones in the fireworks scene with Shauna if you're playing as Serena. In the japanese version Shauna's dialogue plays out romantically towards your character regardless of whether you're Calem or Serena, though in the english version they rewrote it to have Shauna treat Serena as just a good friend in that scene. For Calem they kept the romantic version.

Not true at all, in Zelda and other games with a lot of NPCs there are always lots of characters who are identifiable as straight due to having a wife/husband/girlfriend (either shown or mentioned), or due to showing interest in an opposite-sex character. BotW alone probably has at least 30 such characters, maybe more. Obviously you don't need a character to act flamboyant for it to be clear that they're gay.
